LTS’ own Jerry Scagell will be completing the whole of the 1968 Tour de France route. Since 1968, the distance and height climbed in the Tour de France route has been reduced as it proved too tough and gruelling with 110 riders starting and only 63 finishing. The 2017 Tour covered 3540km with 25,000 meters of climbing over 23 days, but Jerry and fellow riders will be attempting 4651km and 56,125 metres of climbing over 24 days. It will be a true tour of the borders entering Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Andorra and Spain. This will be a difficult task but we know they will give it their best. Good luck Jerry!
